The latest word in the debacle known as Guns n Roses is that Dr. Pepper has offered to give everyone in America (sans Slash and Buckethead) a frosty can of Dr. Pepper if Axel releases his highly sought after album Chinese Democracy this year. This sounds like a pretty safe bet for D.P. since there is about a snowball’s chance in hell that Chinese Democracy will ever see the light of day.

The wait is finally over, Photoshop Express is here. Photoshop Express is the new online Photo editing app from the kind folks over at Adobe. This web app is perfect for all of those people who don’t need the full featured version of Photoshop, but still want to play around with their photos. Here are a few of the features (via

• Includes tools for applying spot healing, distortions, sharpening/softening, color tweaks, image filters, and more
• Offers 2GB of storage space for storing images
• Supports tie-ins to Facebook, MySpace, and Picasa

A promising descendant of the Google Blueprint column based design tool, 960 Grid System aims to make life a little easier for web designers out there. At it’s heart 960 is yet another CSS Framework, the bonus is that it actually offers support documentation, including a variety of design template files such as Photoshop and Fireworks.

“The 960 Grid System is an effort to streamline web development workflow by providing commonly used dimensions, based on a width of 960 pixels. There are two variants: 12 and 16 columns, which can be used separately or in tandem.”

Alright design chums, be in the lookout for these logo design trends in the coming months. Personally, I’m afraid of the immanent return of “The “Ugly” 80’s” logos. I think that this list could be shuffled a bit and a new category inserted called “Old Companies Acting Hip & Failing Miserably”

New Scientist has an article about a new high-tech collar that taps into the nerves which controls your speech. With a little practice the wearer is able to speak silently through the collar which can then transmit the thought speak to a computer for audible output. This tech could have a wide range of applications, but the coolest by far will be as a bad-assed spy communicator.

Check out the new trailer for Lost Boys 2: The Tribe. This movie is sure to be a craptacular gore-fest. I will admit that I am a little excited to see this film, having been a fan of the original in all of it’s cheesy 80’s cliche glory.
