It Came From Outer Space, and Other Cosmic News
I read about this a while ago, but it just popped back on my radar via Slashdot. Retired moon walker Dr. Edgar Mitchell spoke with Kerrang! radio regarding the existence of extraterrestrial life and their frequent road trips to our own happy blue marble. Mitchell also speaks of the government cover-ups that have been keeping us all in the dark, and his assertion that the whole thing is on the verge of blowing wide open.
Regarding this Dr. Mitchell says
It’s been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it’s leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it.
I’ve been in military and intelligence circles, who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes – we have been visited. Reading the papers recently, it’s been happening quite a bit.
In response to Mitchell’s claims NASA has this to say.
NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe…
Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue.
Personally, I don’t really know how I feel about this topic anymore. I was quite a believer back in the day, but then again I believed in a lot of things back then. I would suppose it to be entirely possible that life on other planets exist, and that they have the ability to visited Earth. Considering the size of the Universe it would be presumptuous to think that we are the only technologically capable organisms out there. My only hang up is that I doubt any government’s ability to repress information such as this. Although, this interview is proof in itself that the government can’t, or that they aren’t as concerned about the issue themselves anymore. Otherwise, they’d be hunting down Dr. Mitchell Mulder-style. Like most things in life, only time will tell.
In other less speculative news NASA has some new images from the Phoenix rover. Dust off your 3D specs and enjoy some rocks and dirt!
