While Jim and I have been lamenting the fact that Repo: The Genetic Opera is not stopping anywhere short of a five hour drive away, io9 has been giving the flick some love. io9 recently interviewed Terrance Zdunich on the Repo experience and the internet’s effect on the success of the film. They also took the time to review the film, which was overall positive.
I tried out Barton Damer’s tutorial How to Create Explosive Typographic Effects in Cinema 4D to whip up the new header graphic. It’s been a long time since I’ve played around with a 3D application, and I have to say the exercise was quite fun.
It sounds like Guillermo Del Toro is still working on his adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness. In a recent interview Del Toro hinted that he’s using The Hobbit to perfect the visual/creature effects that he intends to use in AtMoM. Sweet!
